Originally the Club was founded by
students, teachers, and ex-students of the Woodturning
course at Sydney Technical College, Ultimo.
Formerly known as the Western & Blue Mountains Region of
the Sydney Woodturners Guild, our Club became Incorporated
during 2006 and is now known as the Western Sydney
Woodturners Inc. We remain affiliated with the Sydney
Woodturners Guild Inc.
Currently the Club has over 70 men and women, who
enjoy the hobby of
woodturning, learning woodturning techniques and showing their work. Workshops are held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays,Thursdays and Friday nights, to help members gain the maximum
enjoyment and success in woodturning and to give each other
ideas and encouragement for turning projects. There
are always members willing to talk and discuss any problems
you may be having.
Ladies are welcome to attend any day we are open and there are special "Ladies Only" days held on Saturdays, by arrangement. Please contact us for dates.
Although the Club was formed primarily for woodturning, there are no restrictions on expression of ideas in developing techniques and improving skills in all arts of wood working. We welcome all "lovers of wood" to visit our Club and enjoy our facilities.
Club committee meetings are held once a month, with all members
welcome to attend.
Use the Menu to navigate to pages of interest on the Club website.
